While my belief about the importance of families stems from my faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I wanted to create a place where secular, non-spiritual, and research-backed information about families could inform and teach those who are curious on the subject. My spiritual beliefs have a backbone through science, and I have found this to be faith-building and very important as I learn more about family dynamics.
Since this site is dedicated to families, I wanted to introduce my own! This is our happy little family, as of November, 2012:
My name is Alyssa, and my husband's name is Dan. We have three beautiful children: Lilianna, who is 3, Rowan, who will be 2 in January, and Rosalie who was born October 6th of this year. I am so very thankful for them. They are my whole world, and the joy we have together gives such meaning to my decisions in everything I do. Dan is not only a caring, empathetic, and optimistic husband to me, but a wonderful father full of love and wisdom. We work hard at our family, though. We didn't just fall into it, and it is something we constantly aspire to improve. I know this is possible for every family if they just have the right tools to do it.
